Record Collection
You can get to know a person by the music they listen to, so let’s take a brief trip through my vinyl collection.
Calibro 35 - S. P. A. C. E.
A retro soundtrack for an Italian space epic that never existed. Found them from their cover of the theme from La Mala Ordina.
Heaters - Matterhorn
What you get when you mix garage rock with surf and psychedelia? I’ve always wanted to visit the Matterhorn, but this album art will suffice for now.
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - High Visceral
This album combines a two-parter album, which I would describe overall as an energetic mix of Tame Impala’s psychedelia and Royal Blood’s visceral intensity.
The Qualitons - Echoes Calling
A hungarian instrumental jazz-funk outfit turned psych/prog rockers with a sprinkling of folk. They sent me a very nice note when I bought their album on vinyl :D
The Last of Us Soundtrack - Vol 1
Gustavo Santaolalla’s somber yet beautiful compositions are incredibly impactful. He’s able to convey such depth of emotion in as little as a pluck of a guitar string.
Baywaves - It’s Been Like
Sun-kissed psychedelic indie-pop that lifts you into a hypnotic groove in the clouds.
Khruangbin - Con Todo El Mundo
You saw this one on the home page. It’s worth repeating that this is nourishment for the soul. An absolute must listen for everyone.
Vinyl Williams - Brunei
You also saw this one on the front page. You may have noticed a trend in my listening habits by now.
Signed & Imported
Part of the joy of physical media is the elevated status of a signed or imported record
STRFKR - Miracle Mile
An actual pic of the signed record. Waited after the show to meet them. Fun fact, I listened to this album to hype myself up for the interview that landed me an internship at Turner.
Khruangbin - Everything Smiles At You
A Japan-only release featuring all of their early, rare singles. Couldn’t resist such a unique collection.
Skinshape - Life & Love
Will signs nearly every album I buy from him. Very much in the same chill jam vein as Khruangbin.
The Avalanches - We Will Always Love You
Had to import this one to get the signed picture discs. A beautiful maturation of their signature plunderphonics.
